Pretty Good Western
Ed Harris is Virgil Cole and Viggo Mortensen is Everett Hitch; a pair of friends who are law men. The pair head to Appaloosa to clean up the town which had fallen under the rule of a no-good rancher Randall Bragg (Jeremy Irons). Enter Allison French (Renée Zellweger), a woman new in town and problems occur.
This is a pretty good western in modern cinema. It's dirty, gritty and realistic. Well acted with an interesting story. Beautiful filmed in a dusty small town of Appaloosa (set designs are nice).
If you like westerns that aren't all 'shoot-them-up' - it's more story driven than action driven - then give this film a try. It's pretty good.
