Campy Superhero Fun
It's been a good 42 years since I've seen one of my childhood heroes - Flash Gordon! I finally acquired the DVD and had a jolly good time watching this one again.
Every actor was perfectly cast (really love Brian Blessed). The costuming and sets are lifted directly off the pages of the comic books - and brought to life in a stunning colourful display!
The story is of the extraordinary human named Flash Gordon (football hero in the film, polo champion in the comics) who meets with Dr. Hans Zarkov and Dale Arden. They go on an adventure of a lifetime when Zarkovs ship is taken beyond the clouds by order of The Emperor Ming.
Such a fun watch! It's cheesy, campy, and enjoyable for the entire family. I still enjoyed the film!
Extra point for nostalgia.
