Refreshingly Different
A refreshingly different Elvis film. Elvis isn't the complete show as with his other films - in this movie we have other big names and up-and-coming stars also getting plenty of limelight.
The film is about a traveling show or 'Chautauqua'. Walter Hale (Elvis) runs the show and is struggling to keep it held together.
Elvis does belt-out a few good numbers for our listening pleasure.
Special stars: Vincent Price, John Carradine, and Dabney Coleman. Who all play small but important roles. I'll admit, I forgotten all 3 of these wonderful actors was in this film until I bought the DVD recently and rewatched it after many, many years of no-see.
Pretty good film if you want something very different from an Elvis film.
7.5/10
