Harum Scarum (1965)

Cute Comedy - Product of it's Time

I was a little kid in the 70s. Middle Eastern dancing, food and culture was a big thing starting in the mid-60s up until the late-70s/early-80s so this movie fit the time era. Old fogies like myself understand.

This certainly isn't Elvis' worst film - I give that title to 'Stay Away, Joe' (it's awful).

Harum Scarum is silly story with some fun moments and lots of good songs (I love this soundtrack - grew up with it playing all the time). Costumes and set designs are are eye-candy!

This story is of actor/singer Johnny Tyronne (Elvis) who apparently killed a tiger in a film. He is invited to the Middle East, kidnapped, then told to kill the King. Luckly for the King Johnny is in-love with his daughter and didn't want to kill anyone to begin with. Non-sense ensues.

6/10.
