Good True Crime Neo-Noir
True story of 2 cold blooded killers: Perry Smith and Richard "Dick" Hickock who go after a safe full of money from the Clutter family and plan on leaving no witnesses alive. Sadly, 4 members of the Clutter family were murdered over a safe full of money that never existed.
Floyd Wells is the man that tipped off Hickock of a safe full of money in the Clutter home but he is also the man that helped police solve the case by telling them what he knew.
I do wish there was more sympathy for the Clutter family in movie. However, part of the film is spent giving us more background on Perry Smith in a way that makes us feel somewhat sympathetic to the man due to his childhood. We learn very little of Dick Hickock's past.
Overall, a very good true crime neo-noir.
