The Deadly Bees (1966)

Pretty Good "B" Horror

This is a pretty good "B" horror-mystery (pun intended). It's not Amicus' best, but it's an entertaining watch. The film is much better than I expected.

A singer is in need of a good rest and her doctor has a bee-keeper friend on an island that is willing to let the singer stay with him and his wife so the singer does just that. The singer enjoys the island and meets another bee-keeper on the island who seems nice enough. The 2 bee-keepers are rivals and one of them is releasing killer bees to kill. The mystery is which keeper, how and why.

The special effects of the bees are aright for 1966 - not great but watchable. Acting is good, cinematography just fine. I'd say don't go out of your way to see this film, but watch it if you ever run across it for entertainment.

7/10
