First Zombie Movie - And It's Good
Long before Serpent and the Rainbow (the book and the movie) there was the 1932 film White Zombie which is loosely based on a book by William Seabrook, The Magic Island written in 1929 - it is also the first movie about Zombies ever filmed.
White Zombie is a good old classic horror film that fans of horror and zombies should enjoy. It stars none other than our own Bela Lugosi as the witch doctor 'Murder' Legendre.
The film is beautifully done and I agree with others that there is a air of sadness to go along with the morbidity of horror. Well worth watching.
The idea behind "zombism" is plausible yet still considered a mystery to some.... what gives it plausibility is the fact it could be done with a drug (in powder form) derived from plants to 'slip' to the victim.
8/10
