Jack the Giant Killer (1962)

Fun Fantasy Film

This is a pretty fun little fantasy film. It's in the category of Bert I. Gordon's "The Magic Sword" (1962) and would make a great double feature with it.  It's very Disney-ish - similar in a way to "Darby O'Gill and the Little People" (1959).

"Jack in the Giant Killer" is a Cornish fairy tale and legend. There is also a contemporary fantasy novel titled "Jack, the Giant Killer" by Charles De Lint. The film is loosely based on the Cornish fairy tale.

Special effects aren't too bad for 1962 stop-motion. The actors do a wonderful job.

Giants, little people, witches - oh my! Yes this film has all that and more. If you enjoy fantasy then you should give this film a try.

8/10
