Cute For The Kids But...
This film really is cute for the kids but it's not the melancholic look and feel of the original film. The first movie was entertaining for the entire family (adults) while this 2nd film is simply geared for the kids. It's not bad, it's just Disney cashing in on one of their more successful films - "milking" it.
Widow Tweed and Amos Slade are back and we see glimpses of ol' Chief. The real focus of this film is, naturally, Todd and Copper with a group of singing stray dogs.
Disney did recapture the odd friendship of the two starring characters, and they kept the battle between the Widow and Amos going but really that's it.
You can allow your kids to watch this one and they will have a nice story of friendship and love, it's just not nearly as good as the first film.
