Super Fun Sci-Fi Western
I've never read Michael Crichton's novels but he did write the script for the film and directed it so I know the film can't be to far off from the book. I can say the film has me wanting to read the book because it's an excellent watch.
The story is about an adult theme park where adults can live out their fantasies in one of three parks: Romanworld, Medievalworld and Westworld. The film focuses mainly on the later and we only get glimpses of the other two worlds. We also get to see the robot repair department and hear what is actually going on with running the parks.
Casting is super - I've gotta love Brynner and Brolin!
The technology at the time of this film was high tech for it's day yet is nothing compared to today's world YET this film is still well worth watching almost 50 years after this film was released.
Give this film a try if you like sci-fi and westerns!
