A Little Better Than 3-D To Me
This film starts out with the feeling of the first film... the way it's filmed and the fact they are back in Amity really helps this movie feel more inline with the original Jaws than Jaws 3-D did.
The way this movie is, it makes Jaws 3-D more of a stand alone film... like 3-D is some sorta bonus movie to the franchise (or even a parody) because it's as if 3-D never happened in the lives of Mike and Sean Brody the way Jaws 4 plays out and is more inline with the first two films.
In this film, Ellen Brody is distraught over the loss of her husband then the loss of Sean and does not want Mike to go near water ever again. That is a mother's natural way. But what's silly about it is Ellen becomes somehow psychically connected to Jaws and that is where I think this film fails. If she was just looked at as an odd woman then I would be fine with that but the psychic connection is silly.
The movie is still watchable to me but just a bit, well, silly. Plus I find this movie a wee bit better than 3-D where this group of extra large great white sharks are suppose to live - not way off in Disneyland errr ummm Seaworld.
6/10
