The Rite (2011)

A Realistic Take On Demonic Possession.

A realistic movie of healthy skepticism of "the devil" vs belief in "the devil" while bringing in to focus psychological problems as a possible cause.

Great film! I loved the realism, acting and story.  Yes the movie is a little slow in the beginning (but not that bad). I remember thinking "I'm only 10 or 15 minutes into the film" and looked at the time to realize that almost 30 minutes past - so for me the beginning moved quicker than what I read others had said about it.

The move slowly builds up into a creepy suspenseful horror-thriller. Some very intense moments in the film.  It had an ending that ties things up nicely and leaves you with a good feeling yet still feeling chills up and down your spine.

The young priest (to be) Michael Kovak is played by Colin O'Donoghue.... he did a fine job to show the inner struggle/conflict of the character Michael - very convincing.

Anthony Hopkins is a well seasoned actor and is amazing and is also convincing as usual and his role as Father Lucas Trevant is no exception.

I really recommend this movie to those that love religious/occult horror themed movies - it's quite a interesting flick.

9/10
