Bittersweet Cinema
Stand By Me is a very intense, bittersweet film that I could almost feel the actors emotions - I cried as a teen watching this film. It's not without some comedy thrown in to break up the drama.
The story is well scripted and acted out - so much so you are drawn into the movie with the group of adventurous boys. The movie helps to capture what friendship and being young is all about. Laughter, guilt, sadness, anger, pain, heartache and joy are just some of the emotions this group of young boys went through!
I would highly recommend this film to those who have not seen it yet - particular to those who are coming of age.
