A Good Family Film
As sad and sappy as this movie is I LOVE IT! This movie will bring you tears if you have a heart. It's a good solid down to earth story that many people can identify with - maybe that's why it is a favorite classic among many people.
The movie/book Old Yeller reminds me of another good movie/book entitled "Where the Red Fern Grows" which is along similar lines as Old Yeller - A sad story of a boy and his dog(s).
Old Yeller is definitely worth watching even if you are not a fan of Disney films. And a good one to watch with your kids.
